DEFINITIONS
AND ACTIONS The IKF
DOES FOLLOW The INTERNATIONAL Safety Guidelines of TKO/KO Suspensions. We
request all fighters, trainers, managers, promoters and matchmakers to respect
and follow these same suspension rules for the medical safety of all fighters.
- MATCHMAKERS &
PROMOTERS
- When contacting a fighter, manager or trainer to
fight on an upcoming bout it is required that you ask the fighter and
or the fighters trainer/manager if the fighter in question has been stopped in
any bout (Kickboxing, Boxing or Mixed Martial Arts) by a KNOCKOUT or the
bout stopped before the scheduled end by TECHNICAL KNOCKOUT within 45 days prior
to the event of the bout you are attempting to book him/her for.
- If you confirm the bout you must also
request that the fighter do not fight in any bout 45
days prior to the booking of the bout you are scheduling for him/her.
This is to assure the fighter will have adequate time to recover medically if
the fighter were to suffer a loss by knockout or technical knockout.
- TRAINERS, FIGHTERS
& MANAGERS
- It is your personal and legal responsibility to follow the below suspension
regulations for any bout you or your fighter under your care and responsibility
is scheduled to participate in.
- LEGAL: No promoter, matchmaker,
trainer, manager, sanctioning body, insurance company or any person, company or
associates related to the event promotion shall be legally responsible in anyway
if a fighter suffers an injury in a bout they fought on, and were not truthful with the fighters fight history and
did not follow the below KO/TKO Suspension Regulations. This shall hold true
whether the injury in question was directly or indirectly related to the fighter
being stopped in a bout within 45 days prior to the scheduled bout the injury
occurred on.
- DEFINITION
- KNOCKOUT
- When one fighter knocks his or her opponent to the ring floor and the
opponent is OUT COLD by the count of 10
- "OR" the downed fighter is
counted out (Referee counts to "10") by the referee without
standing to his/her feet.
- ACTION
- Any fighter who loses their bout by KO, or
KNOCKOUT will be suspended from Fighting for 45 days. It is the
responsibility of the fighter, trainer and manager to respect and abide by this
rule for the personal safety of their own fighter.
- Their are no "Suspension Waivers"
allowed for true KNOCKOUT loses. This is for the protection of the fighters.
- DEFINITION
- TECHNICAL KNOCKOUT
- A TKO or TECHNICAL KNOCKOUT is when a fighter is stopped from fighting by
the bout referee or the bout medical doctor without being counted out to "*10". A fighter can be stopped from fighting
for many reasons. Some of them include he has taking too many blows, too tired
to continue, knocked down 3 times in one round, but can still stand or is
not "Counted" Out. This is a fighter who is obviously hurt or
unable to continue and the referee, for the safety of the fighter determines the
fighter either could not or should not continue any longer.
- (*) The exception to
this may be a fighter that was knocked out cold and the referee choose not to
count since the fighter was out cold and instead, summend the medical personal
to the ring.
- ACTION
- Any fighter who loses their bout by TKO,
TECHNICAL KNOCKOUT will be automatically suspended from Fighting and Contact
Training a minimum of 30 days. Some TKO Suspension could be 45 days or more
depending upon the circumstances. It is the responsibility of the
fighter, trainer and manager to respect and abide by this rule for the personal
safety of their own fighter.
_____________________________
- SUSPENSION WAIVERS
- If the TKO (TECHNICAL KNOCKOUT) stop was NOT DUE TO A HEADBLOW
and the Suspension given was more then *30 days,
The Fighter, Trainer and or Manager "MAY" make a request in "WRITING"
to the IKF Headquarters for a "Suspension Waiver".
- (*) REGARDLESS OF THE ISSUE, ALL FIGHTERS
who's bout is stopped prior to the ending time of the scheduled round or bout,
shall recieve a MINIMUM of a 30 day medical suspension.
- Examples of bouts that end with a TKO
decision that "Could" be accepted for "Suspension waiver of less than the Suspension given"
are:
- A stop from an injury, except broken bones, and the referee stopped the
bout. (EX: Pulled muscle, twisted ankle etc.)
- Fighter took a hard body blow that did not do any internal damage or break
any bones but he /she was in too much pain (while standing or on one knee)
to continue and the referee stopped the bout.
- Fighter was simply too tired to continue and the referee stopped the bout.
- Fighter was not defending himself and the referee stopped the bout.
- Fighters corner threw in the towell because fighter was winded or just
overmatched.
