UFC Signs 11 Female
Strawweight Fighters
For Their New Women's Division

UFC (Ultimate Fighting Championship) President Dana White has confirmed today that they have been assigned 11 female strawweight fighter contracts for the organization. The 115-pound women will be part of 20th season of The Ultimate Fighter in May 2014. White said the remaining spots on the show will be filled with an open tryout. The season winner will be crowned the first UFC Women's Strawweight Champion. "The women's 135-pound division in the UFC has been amazing and we know there are a ton of talented women's mixed martial artists out there," White said in a statement. "Now, you'll see even more great women's bouts in the UFC with the addition of the 115-pound division. We're excited to crown the first-ever UFC women's strawweight champion in 2014 after a historic season of The Ultimate Fighter." It was only one month ago that the organization was showing interest to open a new UFC women's division Filming for the show will begin on May 18 but a debut date for the first episode has not been announced yet. In an interview White said that the participants likely will be coached by men, but isn't ruling out female coaches. He added that a date and location for the show's finale and title fight has yet to be determined. "The fans like it, I'm thrilled with it, and we're going to dive into the 115-pound division," White said. "We're invested, we're in, as far as the women go." White said the UFC will continue to work with Invicta, which he said would rebuild its strawweight division. "We'll continue to work with them and other promoters," he said. Approximately one year ago, White signed Strikeforce women's bantamweight champion Ronda Rousey to a contract when a broadcast deal with the promotion's television partner, Showtime, failed to materialize. Rousey became the UFC first ever women's Bantamweight Champion. More Women MMA Fighters made their debut in the octagon when Rousey headlined UFC 157 opposite Liz Carmouche. In March, the UFC recruited male and female bantamweights as contestants on "The Ultimate Fighter 18," which featured Rousey and ex-Strikeforce champ Miesha Tate as coaches. White said the success of the co-ed season opened the door for the first all-women season of the show. White said that the fighters in the new division will not compete before next May, allowing them to be healthy for the upcoming TUF season. |

The "Rumble In The Bay" International Kickboxing promotion in Leisureland, Salthill was a resounding success for Pete Foley and his Black Dragon team and one which saw a new World Champion from the beautiful West Of Ireland being crowned. Gary "Slick" Manogue is surely one of the most deserving fighters on this Island to win such a prestigious title. He has consistently proved his worth with some spectacular victories both here, in the UK and in mainland Europe over the last 6 or 7 years. When he entered the ring on Saturday night, he was greeted with thunderous applause from the one thousand strong army of fight fans. When the action got underway, he proceeded to hunt his Italian opponent down with the ferocity and aggression that saw many an opponent who shared a ring with him fall to the canvas.
The second round saw the Italian champion, Alessandro Disnan, regain some composure. He was able to prove he wasn't just over for a holiday as he cracked Manogue with a straight right hand (the classic answer to a southpaw) that had many in the audience concerned. But Gary shook it off and answered back with a hook, cross, hook combination that landed flush on his opponents jaw and the lights went out for Disnan and it was all over! A new superstar was born and Gary "Slick" Manogue had won the IKF Amateur Full Contact Rules Super Welterweight World Title by knockout!!
The roof in Leisureland almost came off, such was the roar of the fight fans and with it, the celebrations got underway almost immediately. Gary wishes to extend a huge word of thanks to his main sponsor "The Eastside Inn" in Ballybane and to John Butler Sports Injury Clinic and of course to all his friends, fight fans, club mates and family who supported him all the way. He has dedicated his victory to his late Father James... RIP and his brother James... RIP.
Another big scheduled fight on the night was for the IKF Amateur K-1 Rules European Title. Galways Irish Champion Bryan "Mayhem" Merrigan, who was kindly sponsored by the Mayfly Inn in Oughterard, was matched with Norweigan fighter Marius Sjursaeter. Sjursaeter however, was seriously injured in a sparring session a week previous to the bout and the fight was in danger of being cancelled. However the Norwegian camp came up with a last minute replacement in the form of Alexander Jacobsen, a veteran of 120 amateur boxing contests and the former Norwegian Amateur Boxing champion. He was also a formidable MMA fighter with experience in K-1. The fight went ahead and Jacobsen proved to be too much for Merrigan and his corner threw in the towel in round two.
However, it came to light the next day that Jacobsen had signed up for a professional boxing contract with a Finland outfit BACK IN 2012 and had several "Pro" boxing fights and apparently had also signed a four fight MMA contract. As the IKF have a strict policy that stipulates that a paid fighter cannot share the ring with an amateur, they had no choice but to immediately strip Jacobsen of his title and vacate it. This being said, it looks like Merrigan will once again go forward to fight for the title sometime early next year.
Black Dragons very own female IKF World Champion Nicola "The Killer" Collins, sponsored by Boston Scientific, was also in action on Saturday night. She took on Italian champion Stepania Spano who had only a month previously, won out the Scandanavian opens. This was Nicolas swansong as they say and what a fight it was to finish an amazing career with. Both girls fought tooth and nail over five hard rounds to the bitter end. At the final bell, it was Collins who took a unanimous points victory and brought the curtain down on a fantastic fight career that spanned an impressive twelve years.
Paul "The Hurricane" Huish who was sponsored by City & County Bouncy Castles, put on an excellent display to capture the IKF Amateur K-1 Rules All Ireland Welterweight title over Paul Pike who fights out of Thurles. In doing so, he became the only fighter in Irish kickboxing history to win national titles in FOUR different rule styles and weights - Light Contact, Full Contact, International Rules (Low Kick) and K-1.
Leona "The Lioness" Trautt, kindly sponsored by Frank O Connor speciality butchers, made a mandatory defence of her IKF Amateur Full Contact Rules All Ireland Lightweight crown to Raging Bull fighter Catherine Butler. Trautt proved why she is the champion as she stopped the game Waterford lass in the third round.
James "Pretty Boy" Ward, sponsored by Joe Mc Cormack Electrical in Kinvara, was unlucky as he went over on his ankle in round two of his IKF Amateur International Rules All Ireland Title fight giving his Donegal Opponent Ciilin Boyce the win by default.
Yvonne "No Mercy" Mc Nevin, sponsored by Michelle Tully - Monivea Sports Massage, did the business in the IKF Amateur Full Contact Rules recently vacated Bantamweight All Ireland Title fight, winning by unanimous decision over Deborah O Sullivan from Coolmines MMA. This fight that was over and back, with O Sullivan being busy throughout, but Mc Nevin landed the more accurate shots and caught the judges eyes.
David Rusinak from Phoenix Gym in Tullamore defeated Stephen Doherty from Donegal Black Dragon to capture the IKF Amateur Full Contact Rules All Ireland Super Welterweight crown which was recently vacated by Charlie Ward.
Gerry King put on yet another spectacular entrance to the delight of the fight fans and also took a split decision win over Carlows Aaron Mc Kensie. Cian Mc Cormac took a well deserved unanimous decision over Pearse Galligan from Wicklow under Amateur K-1 rules in a very technical fight. Mollie Mc Nevin was on fire and she stopped Grace Still from Emerald Kickboxing in Carrick An Suir with a head kick in the third round (Still took the fight on 24 hours notice as Mollies original opponent unfortunately broke her hand)
James Kelly defeated Raging Bull fighter Ryan Walsh by withdrawal in the second round. Ryan Ali came back from a first round knockdown to stop Ray Lyons from AR Kickboxing with a spectacular spinning back fist in round two. Alex Fitzpatrick opened the show with an exhibition bout with Rytis from Waterford.

Former Muay Thai Champion and Pro MMA fighter Shane Del Rosario left us all yesterday following a nearly two week battle after a Catastrophic Cardiovascular Collapse on Tuesday, November 26th. He had been hospitalized at the Hoag Memorial Hospital Presbyterian in Newport Beach, California in critical condition after suffering from full cardiac arrest after two heart attacks. That same day, Del Rosario's manager Jason House said in a statement to Sherdog.com that "Shane del Rosario had a catastrophic cardiovascular collapse at home on Tuesday morning, He was brought to the hospital in full cardiac arrest. He was resuscitated in the emergency room back to a stable heart rhythm and blood pressure. He is currently in the coronary care unit critically ill. Our prayers are with him and his family." According to Erik Apple, a training partner who has known del Rosario since they were in high school, Del Rosario was found at home by his roommate, UFC flyweight Ian McCall. McCall called 911 and administered CPR to Del Rosario before he was taken to the hospital. The days following have been confusing weeks as several misreported his passing. ESPN reported Del Rosario had died on November 28, and this was repeated in various outlets. The credited author ( Josh Gross ) denied having written the story, and later reported Del Rosario alive, though without brain activity. On November 30, Apple said Del Rosario was off life support and breathing on his own. He also registered brain activity and squeezed his mother's hand. Doctors believe he may have a rare heart condition called Long QT Syndrome. After two confusing weeks and several mis-reports of his passing, Del Rosario took his last breath yesterday. Del Rosario was both a Champion Muay Thai fighter and Pro MMA fighter (11-2) who had fought under the UFC, Strikeforce, M-1 Global, ShoXC, and King of the Cage. He was on an undefeated, 11 fight win streak (10 of those only took Shane 1 round and 8 of them were wins by TKO/KO) until hit by a drunk driver in 2011. He was scheduled to fight Dave Herman at UFC 162 in July but had to pull out of a bout due to injury. He was also scheduled for his first fight in 2013 against Guto Inocente at UFC 168 in December, but recently pulled out due to a rib injury. His last two bouts were under the UFC Banner in the heavyweight division and his last bout was over a year ago on December 15th, 2012, a loss to Pat Barry. Shane was born and raised in Orange County, California, and is of Norwegian and Hawaiian descent. He started training as a fighter when he was 17 years old with Marco Ruas. He then attended and graduated from college with a bachelor's degree in psychology out of UC Irvine. Shane was a Muay Thai Kickboxer before an MMA fighter. As a pro Muay Thai fighter he held a record of 8-1 with 8 wins by KO/TKO. He competed as a Heavyweight on the World Championship Kickboxing series of events hosted by In Sync Productions. On November 9th, 2006, Del Rosario fought Tyler Grear and dropped him with a power punch early in round two giving Del Rosario the win by knockout at 16 seconds of the second round. After defeating Justin Carver by first round knockout on January 11, 2007, Shane then fought reigning WBC Muay Thai International Heavyweight Champion Ricardo van den Bos for the vacant WBC Muay Thai World Heavyweight Championship. Del Rosario dominated van den Bos throughout the majority of the bout. After dropping van den Bos twice in round number two, Del Rosario landed a knee that finished Ricardo van den Bos at the last second of the round. He was then declared the winner by knockout at 3:00 of round two and the new WBC Muay Thai World Heavyweight Champion. The win also made him the first American to have won the WBC Muay Thai World Heavyweight title. Del Rosario's first career loss came in his first title defense against Dutch kickboxer Ginty Vrede on January 12th, 2008. Going into the bout as the fan favorite, he appeared to hurt Vrede in the opening round. Vrede came back with a powerful hook that stunned Del Rosario and forced a standing eight-count by the referee. After beating the count, Del Rosario was dropped by an immediate high kick. The referee stopped the fight at 2:24 of the first round and declared Vrede the new WBC Muay Thai World Heavyweight Champion. SadlyGinty Vrede's reign as Champion didn't last long. On January 28, 2008, just over 2 weeks after his bout with Del Rosario, Vrede also past away. He was on an impromptu training session in the Pancration Sports Centre in Amsterdam when at some point he stated that he did not feel very well, and collapsed moments later. CPR was administered for nearly half an hour could not save him. He died on his way to the hospital. After Ginty Vrede's death the WBC World Heavyweight title was vacated. On July 26th, 2008 in Las Vegas, Nevada, Del Rosario faced off and defeated Mexican kickboxer Ricardo Romero by knockout at 1:20 in the second round to win the title for a second time. All of us here at ISCF MMA and IKF Kickboxing would like to extend our sincere condolences to Del Rosario's friends and loved ones.

It was an epic battle between two well known IKF Champions. Multi time IKF World Classic Champion Tecia Torres of North Lauderdale, Florida, USA (16-4/2 in kickboxing / Muay Thai, 7-0 in amateur MMA and 3-0 as a Pro MMA fighter) and IKF Pro Muay Thai United States Bantamweight Champion (2008) and 2 time IKF Tournament Champion (2005 & 2006) Felice Herrig. Herrig had just signed with Invicta this past August while Torres signed with them the year before in October of 2012, right after she won her 4th IKF World Classic Tournament in a row. In last nights bout between these two IKF Champions Torres put on a dominant performance to keep her undefeated record intact against the 9-5 Herrig. In the end, Torres took the win by unanimous decision, 30-27 on all 3 judges cards. This was Herrig's highly-anticipated Invicta debut but was dominated by the shorter Torres who showcased an impressive arsenal of strikes and kicks as she had did at the IKF Tournaments. "What shocked me was total domination," Congratulations to Torres on such a big win. As for Herring, as always... She'll be back, you can count on it. |

Another IKF Champion doing well in Invicta Pro MMA is IKF Pro Muay Thai European Flyweight Champion Joanne Calderwood of Glasgow, Scotland (18-2 as a Kickboxer / Muay Thai Fighter) Calderwood who is 8-0 as a pro mma fighter faced off against another undefeated straw-weight contender, Katja Kankaanpaa (8-0-1). however Calderwood gave Kankaanpaa her first loss with a unanimous decision 29-28 by all three judges. "I'll just fight whoever is in front of me," said Calderwood when asked if she deserves a shot at the Invicta Strawweight belt. "That's my job. I'll leave the rest up to them." |

IKF Champ Justin Scoggins of Simpsonville, South Carolina, USA (17-0/3 in Kickboxing) put a hurtin on his opponent Richie Vaculik of Australia in his flyweight UFC Debut this past weekend. The UFC Fight Night event was held at the Brisbane Entertainment Centre in Brisbane, Australia. Since turning pro in 2012, Scogging remains undefeated as he improves his Pro MMA Record to 8-0. His debut began with a takedown in the opening minute of the fight and immediately looking to strike from the top. Vaculik worked his back to his feet shortly after but was clipped by a right hand and went crashing back to the canvas. To his credit, Vaculik quickly recovered and again scrambled to his feet, but Scoggins took him to the floor yet again. Vaculik looked to buck and roll and attack from his back, but Scoggins transitioned smoothly to the back and unleashed a flurry of punches. Vaculik didn't necessarily look to be in trouble, but with 17 seconds left in the first round, referee Steve Perceval had seen enough and called a stop to the fight, despite Vaculik immediately popping up to protest. With his undefeated MMA record intact and his UFC debut
in the books, Scoggins isn't resting on his laurels. Immediately after
the fight he implored UFC matchmaker Joe Silva to include him on
the upcoming fight card in Atlanta. |

Over the years we have seen many fighters from both the Amateur and Pro ranks known to the IKF progress their way to big promotions. Promotions such as K-1 and Glory for Kickboxing and Strikeforce, Bellatore, - Invicta and of course UFC for MMA. Tonights UFC Fight Night 33 at the Brisbane Entertainment Centre in Brisbane, Queensland, Australia will be yet another UFC event where we will recognize some familiar IKF Faces. On the FOX Sports 2 Preliminary Card which begins at 7:PM Eastern USA Time, we will see former IKF Amateur World Classic Champion Justin Scoggins (125) take on Richie Vaculik (126). - TALE OF THE TAPE - Click HERE. Scoggins of Simpsonville, South Carolina, USA (17-0/3 in Kickboxing) won his IKF tournament title at the 2009 IKF World Classic in the Welterweight (140.1 lbs. to 150 lbs.) Full Contact Rules division for Junior Boys ages 16-17. In the prelim round Justin defeated defeated Devin Smith of Beloit, Illinois, USA by unanimous decision, 30-26, 30-26 & 30-27. In his Championship bout the following day he defeated Zane Schmidt of Pacific, Missouri, USA by majority decision 30-28, 29-28 & 29-29. Justin is 21-0 as a Kickboxer. Like well known IKF

Thompson Scoggins will enter tonights UFC bout
undefeated as an amateur and pro fighter with six of his seven Pro MMA wins by
stoppage, including five knockouts. The 21-year-old South Carolina native has
won four straight fights by knockout in regional action in his home state of
South Carolina. As a Pro MMA Fighter Justin is
7-0. As an Amateur MMA fighter he was
6-0-1. Although Justin will have the edge as
far as ring experience, this will surly not be an easy - pushover fight. His
opponent, Richie Vaculik of Australia is
9-*3 as a professional MMA Fighter. |

Another face known to the IKF on this same event is Nick Ring of Calgary, Alberta, Canada. Nick was trained by well known Muay Thai trainer and former Muay Thai Champion himself, Mike Miles. Ring won the IKF Amateur International Rules Western Canadian title on June 14th, 1997 over Shane Doerkson of Prince Albert, Saskatchewan, Canada by unanimous decision, 40-36, 40-36 & 39-37. He went on to win numerous Pro Muay Thai titles. His amateur Muay Thai record was 23-4 with 12 wins by KO and his Professional Record was 19-2 with 8 wins by KO. Later that same year he won his IKF Title Nick fought on The IKF Sanctioned "Battle 97" event on November 1st, 1997 in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. That night Nick defeated Andrew Frazer of Winnipeg Canada by decision. The bout was so exciting it was awarded the honor of being the "Fight of the night." Nick fought several times on IKF Sanctioned events and even fought in an above the waist full contact rules bout when he defeated Jace Jeanes from Texas USA by first round TKO. On the FOX Sports 2 Preliminary Card which begins at 7PM eastern Time tonight Ring will face off against Caio Magalhaes in the 185 lb weightclass. Nick has a Professional MMA record of 11-2 and an amateur MMA record of 2-0. His opponent, Caio Magalhaes is 7-1 in Pro MMA. - TALE OF THE TAPE - Click HERE. |

Pat "Get Hype" Barry always seemed to live up to his nickname, especially on one IKF sanctioned event in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. It was promoted by Duke Rufus' Gladiators Fighting Kickboxing & MMA Series at the Milwaukee Ramada Convention Center's Grand Ballroom on October 21st, 2005 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, USA. In his featured Main Event bout the New Orleans native took care of fellow K-1 veteran Dustin "The Mechanic" Hanning of Los Angeles, CA. Barry put on an impressive performance utilizing all of the tools. Although smaller he was much quicker as he used both his hand speed and quick feet to neutralize any reach advantage Hanning might have had. With thunderous axe like low kicks peppering Hanning's legs, Barry put his opponent away late in round one and improved to 13-1 at the time. He ended his kickboxing career with a record of 18-6-1 with 9 wins coming by KO/TKO, 9 of the bouts were with the K-1 organization.. After the fight, Barry addressed the appreciative crowd and thanked the fans of Milwaukee and New Orleans for their support. Barry had recently relocated to Wisconsin after the Hurricane Katrina tragedy. Sadly he lost his grandmother in the storm. At the time of the bout above he was training under Duke Roufus in Milwaukee. (PHOTO) Barry also fought for K-1 and was a very successful San Shou Rules fighter (Sanda Kungfu). His San Shou titles included 2005 Kings of Kickboxing Tournament, 2003 U.S. Open Sanshou Championship, 2004 U.S. Open Sanshou Championship Sanda Kungfu Federation United States Heavyweight Championship, SKF World Heavyweight Championship, 2003 Silver medal World Wushu Championships. He also competed in the now defunct World Combat League, a team-based kickboxing competition in which matches were fought over one round. He represented the New York Clash 235 lb weight class and amassed a record of 3-1 with his only loss coming to a young Jarrell Miller. Pat will be on the FOX Sports 1 Main Card beginning at 9:PM Eastern time in the 265 lbs division. He has a Pro MMA record of 8-6. He will be fighting Soa Palelei who has a pro MMA record of 19-3. For the bout, Pat weighed in at 237 and Palelei quite a bit larger at 264 lbs. |

Before he was Nelson "The Tyrant" Lebron we knew him as Nelson "THE TOAD" Lebron. However, no one ever told us where that nickname came from and besides, we like The Tyrant much better... Just as well, Labron of of Virginia Beach, Virginia became known to the IKF over 10 years ago. Along the way he won the 2003 IKF/TKO USA National
Amateur Full Contact Rules Featherweight Tournament Title. His road to victory started with defeating Juan Vargas of Beloit, Wisconsin, USA in the prelim round. in the Championship bout the following day Nelson (22-5-1 with 9 wins by KO at the time) defeated Dallas Crowe of Spartanburg, South Carolina, USA. Nelson's bout with Crowe was featured on one of the episodes of the IKF TV Show later that year that aired on September 12th, 2003. Through the years Nelson made lots of friends in the fight sports he was involved in, however in 2005 it was even a surprise to him to meet another former IKF Amateur Champion on the other side of the world in when the two were serving their country in Afghanistan. While there he met former IKF fighter Derrick Jones from Clarksdale, Mississippi, USA. At the same 2003 IKF/TKO USA National Tournament Nelson won his title at, Jones lost to another top IKF fighter, Doyle Gayler of Kaufman, Texas, USA in his championship bout. At the time Nelson was stationed in Kabull, Afghanistan and while there he did several things with Martial Arts. In order to improve community relations, Lebron and others at Combined Forces Command –Afghanistan (title of the command he is with) volunteered on a weekly basis and attend orphanages, hospitals, a women's prison, and several poverty stricken towns. They provide the poor with food, clothes, shoes, coats and blankets so they may survive the severe winters. At one of their meetings it was suggested that Nelson teach Martial Arts at one of the orphanages, and he gladly accepted. Because of his background as a Marine, Close Combat Instructor, it was also suggested that he begin teaching Martial Arts, boxing, and kickboxing along with the Close Combat classes as an outlet for the Marines, Army, Air Force, and Navy in Camp Eggers, Kabul. They work seven days a week and always had to remain on high alert because of all the prevalent threats. In an e-mail Nelson wrote us in 2006 he said, "As you all may know not all wars are won on the battlefield. Diplomacy is always the greatest solution in ensuring peace and creating a better future for the world. Over the last 8 months I have been working hand and hand with the Afghan Olympic Committee and Olympic Boxing team in trying to ensure that there is hope for a better future. The boxing team here is very under privileged. Thanks to the IKF, Joe Lewis Fighting Systems, Mike Anderson and Top Ten, Craig Smith, Dog Pound Boxing Gym, Roger Belch, and the US Armed Forces the dream of a competitive Olympic future is baring fruit in Afghanistan." He went on to say, "However, much help is still needed. The country is very poor and all the coaches are volunteers. Some of the fighters only eat once a day. The team is in very much need of help. They are no different than any other individual that has laced gloves up before, the desire and heart is overwhelming. I ask for help in sponsoring this team with equipment. They are in need of everything. No ring to train in, the only equipment they have are courtesy of the great Mike Anderson and the JLFS. Your support is very much needed. For those of you who have grown up poor, with a dream like I did, this is it, your chance to give back. Any little bit helps. Old or new, the key is to inspire hope and provide a training tool. Take a risk. The only things in life you regret, are the risks that you didn't take. The greatest tragedy of life is not that men perish, but that they cease to love. If you can assist in any way, please help me in establishing the lasting impression of the kindness of the American people and the resolve that has made us the great nation we are. In his Martial Arts Career Nelson earned a 4th Degree black belt under the late Joe Lewis, a 3rd Degree black belt under Craig Smith, 1st Degree black belt under Tom Poey as well as a Black Belt in Marine Corp Martial Arts. As a Kickboxer he won 3 different world titles from 3 different organizations and was also a Golden Gloves boxer. |

Nelson is also a business man and created a website for his company Tyrant MMA, a clothing line. His quote on his website pretty much sums up Nelson's intensity as it reads... "Somewhere, A hungry fighter is
training. He is training in austere conditions, day and night. He doesn't go
home at a set time, because the gym is his home.

Global, in conjunction with Street Culture – MNL, will host one
of two K-1 World MAX 2014 Quarter Final events, airing live around the
world on Epicentre.tv.
The K-1 World MAX 2014 Quarter Final in Spain event will feature two huge Quarterfinal bouts from the 2013 K-1 World MAX tournament. With so much on the line for these young fighters be prepared for two exciting fights in the World MAX Tournament. Spain's Elam Ngor will make his first K-1 World MAX Final 8 appearance against the very tough and technical Korean K-1 veteran Lee Sung-Hyun. Ngor earned his spot in the tournament with a hard-fought and impressive victory over Azerbaijan's Ismat Aghazade while Lee Sung-Hyun engaged in a war against France's Charles Francois to advance in the tournament.
In the other Quarterfinal bout Spanish star Maximo Suarez will square off against one of Canadian Kickboxing's best kept secrets, Shane Campbell. Maximo Suarez made a big impression on the world stage with his win over Romania's Miodrag Olar, while Shane Campbell made quick work out of Brazil's Wallace Lopes with his devastating body shots in the Final 16.
The card will also feature a host of Superfights, including an exciting clash between Spain's David Calvo and Britain's rising star and former 2 time IKF Junior Amateur World Champion Chad Sugden of Newark, England. Sugden won his first IKF Junior Amateur Lightweight World Title on November 29th 2009 in Rochester, Kent, England when he defeated Charlie Ward (Ireland, 17-2) by unanimous decision, 50-45, 50-46 & 48-47.
He won his second IKF Junior Amateur (Welterweight) World Title on October 16th, 2010 in Kelham, England when he defeated David Lenson (Staten Island, New York USA, 18-2) by unanimous decision. 50-44, 49-45, 49-45. Photo.
Chad is trained by his father and also former fighter, Dean Sugden and has a current pro kickboxing record of 8-0 after a tremendious amateur career compiling a record of 101 wins and only 5 loses.
Also on the card will be Damian Garcia against Alcorac Caballero, Moises Baute vs. Razvan Floria, Alejandro Rodriguez vs. Azerbaijan's Tural Bayrmov and Aitor Alonso against a yet-to-be-determined opponent.
